The suit is still the most elegant item of clothing a man can wear as long as its cut, colour and fabric are correct - meaning that they suit the occasion, the time of day, the season of the year and the climate:
 

(1) Shoulders Shoulders have very little padding if any at all. Instead, they usually slope slightly. (2) Sleeves Sleeves buttons of a good suit can be undone. Suit sleeves should show about one inch of shirt sleeve.  (3) Waist Provided you have the figure, the cut should be like an hourglass - slim around the waist line. (4) Vents The classic English suit has two long side vents, which makes it more flexible when sitting down. (5) Trousers The trousers are cut to rest high on the hips and sit relatively close to the leg. Cuffs are not common.
